Expanded polystyrene, also known as EPS, a trademarked brand StyrofoamTM, is not widely recycled because of its low density, bulky nature, and difficulty in cleaning, making it expensive and impractical for many recycling programs. While technically recyclable, specialized facilities and equipment are needed, and the material is often contaminated with food or other substances, further hindering its recyclability.

That’s why PolyKinetix accepted the challenge of addressing this as a part of our commitment to environmental responsibility.  Our first commercial solution is the consumption of waste XPS polystyrene foam as a raw material used to manufacture insulation panels with 100% recycled content.

PolyKinetix has also launched the manufacture of polystyrene pellets used in factories making new polystyrene products like blade guards on disposable razors, picnicware, components of medical devices, and electronics components.

But what about Styrofoam contaminated by food waste, adhesives, and other foreign substances?  And what about single-use post-consumer plastics and end-of-life tires?

Based on years of prior experience, and supported by Company earnings from manufacturing insulating boards and polystyrene pellets for industry, the PolyKinetix team is preparing to deploy a system for the manufacture of building blocks for new plastics and tires, as well as lubricant and petrochemical precursors further refined by others to produce retail, commercial, and industrial grease, coatings, adhesives, surfactants, etc.

Pollution from StyrofoamTM, other post-consumer & post-industrial plastic waste, and end-of-life tires is a very big problem, and PolyKinetix is doing something about it.

You, too, can become a part of the solution.  Watch the PolyKinetix website for newly posted information on how to divert plastic waste from burning and open dumping, the current state of the recycling industry, and how to improve the safety of plastics use in your home.  Contact us to inquire how you could own a piece of PolyKinetix to become a part of a real-world, fast-growing, and environmentally conscious solution to pollution by plastic waste and end-of-life tires.

We’re doing the right things for the right reasons at the right time.
